| "My kitchen
posed a challenge for Matthew James because of the numerous windows and doors
that limited wall space". |
|

 |
To
compensate for this, tall pieces of furniture provide copius storage while the
island provides a central work station and forms a link between the range
cooker and Belfast sinks.
In lieu of a chimney breast, a mantle to
surround their Elan Rangemaster Cooker was opted for with a spashback of
ceramic tiles. Farrow & Ball's Chapel Green was chosen for the painted
furniture, which together with Oak combines sublime touches in their
Edwardian-style kitchen.
A large bespoke
larder manufactured from European Oak and finished with a clear lacquer, serves
as a spectacular storage area for dry goods as it's entire contents can be seen
at a glance. |
|
 |
| The drawers
have been crafted from the same solid oak wood as the larder and accomodate the
family's everyday utensils, cultery and pans. The cupboards and soft-closing
drawers are finished with a combination of ceramic and antique pewter handles
and knobs. |
