| "With a young family to
feed, the kitchen had to be ruggedly functional, while retaining a period
mood". |

The island
topped with granite incorporates a Brittannia range cooker with deep pan and
utensil drawers either side and an Elica island extractor above. A tall open
bookcase to the rear of the island is backed with a granite upstand which
creates a superb splash back for the cooker. A maple butchers block is
perfectly positioned on the end of the island for vegetable preparation.
On the wall behind the Island is a
grand, freestanding larder with a cool granite shelf. Three wooden pull-out
wicker baskets provide ample space for fruit and vegetables with beautifully
crafted oak trays set either side that are perfect for carrying afternoon tea
into the garden or lazy dinners in front of TV. The larder also offers wine
storage as well as spice shelves fitted to the inside of each door. |

While on
the opposite wall is a spectacular Oak dresser with Georgian glazed doors and
deep drawers below with magnificently turned legs.
The french farmhouse sink by the window, with it's views over
the garden, is inset into a hard-wearing black granite work surface. A
fully-integrated dishwasher and pull-out waste bin are built-in below the
specially designed plate rack.
The
Sub-Zero Fridge/Freezer was integrated into an existing recess within the
kitchen, which provided more than enough fridge space for a growing
family. |
